In many ways, wuxia was a big reason I was able to stay connected to my culture in childhood. One of my most vivid memories as a teen was having my relatives in China take me all over the city, from big bookstores to tiny stalls, in search of the VCD version of Return of the Condor Heroes (2006) - we ended up finding it at a sketchy little shop.
